Are you feeling overwhelmed?

Looking for a welcoming and comfortable place to talk, or, just to be how you really are?

You have come to the right place.

Are you feeling afraid? Alone? Depressed? Hopeless? Stuck? Limited? Discontented? Uneasy? Anxious? Worried? Out of control? Confused? Lost? Numb? Insecure? Doubtful? Critical? Stressed? Tensed? Angry? Struggling at work? In relationships? Difficult feelings, thoughts or memories coming back from your past?

It is very hard and unsettling to be in this place, and understandably, you want therapy to help you 'fix' these feelings or problems to feel better. Still, I would encourage you to see these feelings as a very important compass, which is pointing to what you need to attentively listen to, and to understand first, about yourself or your situation before you can make meaningful long-lasting changes. For example, how your past might be affecting you in how you feel about the world, the people around you, and very importantly, yourself.

In therapy with me, I aim to empower you to eventually become your 'own therapist', as you grow a solid understanding of what had contributed to your difficulties, and what you can do in the here-and-now to move towards a more positive direction in your life where you can thrive.
I am a DBS checked, fully accredited and experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapist registered with the professional body BABCP (The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies), with 15 years of continuous work in mental health as a psychotherapist. Besides CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), I am also trained in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CFT (Compassion Focussed Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). I am too a qualified mindfulness teacher and a long term meditator.

Equipped with many strings in my therapist bow, I aim to get to know you, offer you a safe space to explore your difficulties, and tailor treatment attentively to your needs.

I have successfully provided short, medium and long-term psychological therapies to adults in a variety of settings, both NHS and private, working with clients presenting with straight forward to more complex needs. I have also been invited to supervise therapists, and examine trainee therapists.

Prior to working full time in private practice, my last role was in the NHS, offering therapy to clients experiencing traumas, perinatal and long term physical health difficulties.

Previous clients have used adjectives such as "warm", "down to earth", "calm", "perceptive" and "gentle but honest" to describe me as a therapist. I believe that my emphasis on good personal self-care and development has enabled me to consistently offer the above qualities to my clients.

Further, having grown up and lived internationally (Hong Kong, Italy & UK), and having travelled widely to many corners of the world (e.g. Ethiopia, Nigeria, Bahrain), I bring into the therapy space a deep sense of openness, curiosity and empathy to a wide range of ways in seeing and being in the world. In therapy, I do not only aim to help you work on the struggles that you are facing, but to help you recognise your unique personal story and strengths.
